Oliver Madas received his high school education at the Vienna Music High School. He studied percussion with Heinz Hartlieb at the Music School 15 of the City of Vienna from 1992 to 1995, and with Ernst Theis at the Vienna conservatory from 1995 to 2003. In 2003 he received not only his diploma as percussionist, but also his teaching certificate with distinction. From 2001-2003 he was also enrolled at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under Prof. Gerhard Windbacher, and studying repertoire with Roland Altmann and Anton Mittermayr. He concluded a course of study in piano as well at the Music School 15 of the City of Vienna.

Oliver Madas' musical activities have included performing with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Volksoper; the Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra; the Chamber Symphony; Ensemble Kontrapunkte; Ensemble Die Reihe; Ensemble Corso, Vienna; Ensemble 11; Vienna Virtuosi; and the Vienna Academy. Since 2002, he has been a member of the "Supercussion Vienna" and is one of the founding members of the percussion ensemble "The Rhythmania Artists". He has been engaged in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra as a percussionist with Timpany and has been a member of the Vienna Philharmonic since 2006. He ha also been a Professor of Percussion in the music pedagogy section at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna since 2008.
